While 3 years have passed since the Doppler Radar System purchased at a cost of 50 million rupees to improve weather forecasts, was rendered in-operational, no steps have been taken as yet to undertake repairs. The Doppler Radar System enables meteorologists to make more accurate predictions regarding areas that will experience rainfall, the intensity and duration of rainfall.

Experts call for action against those involved in the Doppler Radar System controversy

Experts say that stringent measures should be taken against those who were involved in incurring massive losses to the country when installing a dysfunctional Doppler Radar System.

While a committee had launched Investigations into the in-operational status of the system in 2014, the investigation report revealed that the installation of the system had been carried out in a haphazard manner.
